Cinewave - Mrs Harris Goes to Paris

A wave of movie emotions in Grado Pineta

At 9.30 p.m.

Are you ready for a summer of cinema under the stars? Get ready to immerse yourself in a unique experience of open-air screenings by Cinemazero, thanks to the review "Cinewave: a wave of movie emotions in Grado Pineta"! One Friday evening a month (28 June, 19 July, 16 August and 13 September), the beach of Grado Pineta will light up with stories and adventures for young and old, with the background of the waves of the sea, at the "Costa del Sol" bathing establishment.

Our selection of films is designed to take you on exciting journeys, linked by the theme of "holidays": From the eccentric and colourful atmospheres of Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel", to the enchanted and magical world of "Luca", the animated film signed by Enrico Casarosa; the journey will then continue with "Ticket to Paradise" by Ol Parker, a romantic adventure that will take you to tropical paradises, and will end with "Mrs Harris Goes to Paris" by Anthony Fabian, a delightful comedy with a brilliant script and tasty humour.

A few info about today's film...

The story of Mrs Harris is set in 1950s London and follows the life of a cleaning lady who struggles to make ends meet after the disappearance of her husband. Her clients are increasingly demanding and often forget to pay her. One day, she discovers a haute couture dress in a customer's wardrobe and falls in love with it. This dress becomes her obsession and her hope to finally be seen and admired. Ms Harris is willing to do anything to possess it and starts saving up to afford a trip to Paris. She faces criticism and snobbish looks, but with her big heart she manages to positively influence the lives of others. Lesley Manville plays the role of Mrs. Harris perfectly, delivering a memorable performance in a comedy that, while entertaining the audience, also invites reflection on the value of the invisible but precious people who populate our lives and our cities.

The event is free of charge but the number of headsets for multilingual viewing in Italian, German and English is limited (200 pieces) so to attend you must book online at Eventbrite, write to experience@grado.it or call +39 0431 80383.

Remember to come prepared for an evening under the stars: bring a beach towel to relax on the sand, a jumper, mosquito spray and above all, your passion for cinema!

In case of rain, the event will be postponed until the next day.
