Cin-ci-là, also because of its curious name, is the best-known operetta title in Italy, and this is certainly thanks to its immediate music and light-hearted rhythm, but also to the absolutely amusing atmosphere suggested by the text.
Cin-ci-là is 100 years old, a success that continues thanks to the centenary edition where the professionalism and high quality of the Corrado Abbati company's proposal is combined with the staging created at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
A modern edition, sensitive to the taste of today's renewed audience: with Cin-ci-là, beautiful and sensual woman, get ready to laugh lightheartedly!
The history of the Corrado Abbati Company spans more than thirty years of activity, during which more than sixty productions have been staged, ranging from classical operetta to musicals. From the most famous and ‘popular’ titles such as La vedova allegra, Cin-ci-là, Il paese dei campanelli, to the revival of less famous but still fascinating operettas, such as Frasquita or Il conte di Lussemburgo by Franz Lehàr, Madama di Tebe by Carlo Lombardo, L'Acqua cheta and Addio Giovinezza by Giuseppe Pietri, Al Cavallino Bianco by Ralph Benatzky and the musical comedies and musicals Tea for Two by Vincent Youmans, My Fair Lady by Frederick Loewe, Hello, Dolly! by Jerry Herman, Cole Porter's Can Can and Kiss me Kate, Frank Loesser's Bulli and Pupe, and Nacio Herb Brown's Singin' in the Rain.
These were followed by the premiere production of the new musical La Principessa Sissi on a text by Abbati himself and with music by Alessandro Nidi.
All this work has always pursued the philosophy that has led the Corrado Abbati Company to be today a national leader in musical theatre, not only in operettas: targeted artistic choices, organisational rigour, and great artistic and technical professionalism in productions.
