At the fish market of Grado you can buy fresh catch of the day fish that arrives straight from th fishing boats. This is the philosophy of the Zero Miglia (“Zero Miles”) line, created in 2010 by the Grado Fishermen’s Cooperative to guarantee the possibility of buying fresh local products all year round.
The fish naturally varies depending on the season, the weather and sea conditions. For example, if the fishing boats did not go out due to adverse weather conditions, more products will be found from the lagoon than from the sea, and some species may be missing during biological rest periods. This is synonymous with a sure guarantee of origin and of freshness of the products that can be purchased.
OPENING TIMES
The fish market is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Closed Saturday, Sunday and holidays or on days when sea conditions did not allow boats to go out.
L’Osteria awaits you for a taste of the “catch of the day”
If you want to try the delicious fish dishes, there is the Osteria located along the port canal, next to the fish market. The menu varies depending on the catch, which is always fresh and locally sourced.
DID YOU KNOW THAT…
The Grado Fishermen’s Cooperative was founded in 1930 as an association of lagoon fishermen, and today it still represents the most important organization in the local fisheries industry? For fishing enthusiasts, it is fascinating to watch the fishing boats coming and going and the landing operations of freshly caught fish.
