Wednesday 26 August, on the spectacular sea-view stage, there will be an ensemble of close-knit musicians, well-established through long careers, who are pursuing this new project with great determination.

The band presents a show that pays tribute to both Battisti and Mogol, yet goes far beyond simply performing covers of the classics from their repertoire; in fact, it reinterprets the originals whilst remaining faithful to them, yet striving not to be a mere copy, infusing them with its own personality and musical sensibility, and bringing to the fore the blues and rock soul that this artist held so strongly within him.

Each tour features a show different from the last, yet as always meticulously planned down to the smallest detail; nothing is left to chance: carefully crafted arrangements, dynamics and stage design.

After filling squares and theatres across Italy (and also in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro), the first major recognition of their artistic merit came at the end of 2015 with a sold-out show at the Teatro Rossetti in Trieste, which also featured a special guest appearance by Mogol himself, who gave his official blessing to Canto Libero. The experience was repeated in April 2017, when Mogol returned to the stage with the band for their Udine date, marking yet another sold-out performance at the Giovanni da Udine, and in September 2018 in Verona at the Teatro Romano for the show dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Lucio’s passing, reaffirming a relationship of mutual respect and collaboration that would be repeated many times in the future.

The show has already completed several tours since 2015, attracting a total of over 125,000 spectators in prestigious theatres such as the Dal Verme in Milan, the Duse in Bologna, the Filarmonico in Verona, the Ponchielli in Cremona, the Olimpico in Rome, the Gran Teatro Geox in Padua, the Politeama Rossetti in Trieste, the Colosseo in Turin, the Politeama Genovese, the Tuscany Hall in Florence, the Goldoni in Livorno and many others, almost always selling out…
