Concert held during the annual Medical Congress that has been taking place in Grado for many decades.
German doctors decided to do something nice for the local people by organising a small concert in the Basilica of St. Euphemia on Corpus Christi.
The orchestra was founded over 50 years ago on the initiative of a group of German doctors who had long been involved in music, finding in it a source of help and balance in their demanding work.
At the end of the 1970s, Dr Georg Kaiser, who was head physician at the Marktheidenfeld Hospital in Germany for many years, devoted much of his energy to this initiative and, thanks to the willingness and collaboration of colleagues and friends, developed it further with the aim of helping young musical talents with limited financial means to express themselves in public and make themselves known. The high quality of the results achieved is appreciated every year in what has now become a tradition in Grado, as well as in concerts held in Germany, Switzerland and Poland, thanks to the support of people who share the educational and cultural aims of the initiative.
