Grand opera takes centre stage this summer

Thursday 20 August 2026, the Basilica of Sant’Eufemia will host one of the most prestigious events of the 43rd edition of ‘Musica a 4 Stelle’: a recital by the mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona, one of the most authoritative and acclaimed voices on the international opera scene.

An acclaimed artist in the world’s most important theatres, from La Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Daniela Barcellona is considered one of the foremost interpreters of the Rossini and Verdi repertoire. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with the greatest contemporary conductors, including Riccardo Muti, winning over audiences and critics alike thanks to her extraordinary voice and a stage presence of rare intensity.

For the concert in Grado, she will present a refined programme dedicated to some of the most famous works by Manuel de Falla, Giuseppe Verdi and Gioachino Rossini, in a musical journey through some of the most beloved operas of the international opera repertoire.
