The contemporary art festival BORDERLAND | ORIZZONTI returns to Grado with the international exhibition “OPEN SEA | FROM THE BORDER TO THE HORIZON”, which can be visited from 29 August to 20 September 2026 at the former Cinema Cristallo.

With this exhibition, the festival’s journey returns to the sea – the place where the project originated – to once again embrace a dimension of encounter and crossing. A sea understood not as a dividing element, but as a space capable of fostering connections; a horizon that represents not a point of arrival, but a possibility for movement, listening and transformation.

Opening

The opening is scheduled for Saturday 29 August at 6.30 pm.

The exhibition will feature works created during the artist residency at Castel San Mauro by:

  • Irene Dorigotti

  • Lea Radatz

Alongside these, works by the following artists will be on display:

  • Gaia Agostini

  • Nadezda Golysheva

  • Uta Heinecke

  • Egle Oddo

  • Giacomo Zorba

This will be followed by the performance “ILLIMITATO CANTO” by the collective HERBARIUM, comprising Erica Benfatto on vocals, Martin O’Loughlin on didgeridoo and wind instruments, and Katia Marioni on hurdy-gurdy and wind instruments.

Opening hours

The exhibition is open until 20 September 2026, with free admission.

Works on display in the shop windows: always on view.

Internal spaces: Saturdays and Sundays, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
