For the second time, a round of the Italian Kitesurfing Championship – Big Air discipline is coming to Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the XIII FIV Zone.
Some of Italy’s top athletes are expected in Grado, ready to compete in one of the most spectacular and adrenaline-fuelled disciplines in kitesurfing.
In Big Air, height, technique and the difficulty of the manoeuvres take centre stage: propelled by the wind, athletes can reach heights of up to 20 metres with their jumps, performing spectacular acrobatics and manoeuvres.
The title of Italian Big Air Champion is up for grabs.
A WEATHER-DEPENDENT EVENT: THE BORA DECIDES!
A Big Air competition requires the right conditions and, above all, strong wind. For this reason, the event will take place on call, over one or two consecutive days between 7 September and 7 October 2026.
A proper traffic light system will be used to determine when to start the competition:
RED LIGHT – the competition is on standby, awaiting suitable conditions.
YELLOW LIGHT – comes on 96/72 hours before the competition is due to start.
GREEN LIGHT – is given at least 48 hours before the start: the competition is confirmed!
The detailed programme will therefore be announced when the green light comes on.
The race course will be determined based on wind and tide conditions, whilst athlete registration and the skippers’ meeting will take place at Camping al Bosco di Grado.
