Korfu draws the elements of his expressive language from the most acclaimed pictorial tradition of the past, grafting them onto a compositional structure that derives directly from the graphic culture of comics.
In his paintings,reality and unreality merge and blend together, rejecting any logical and consequential narrative. Colours and lines are simply presented as elements connecting the artist's individual sensitivity and the viewer's particular gaze, in a joint attempt to create an imaginative opening that allows materiality to be redeemed.
