Thus Tonino, a Sicilian storyteller with a poetic soul, a histrionic musician and storyteller, convinces Maria, a young girl with an apparently mild temperament who is still unaware of his extraordinary talent, to follow him in an undertaking that is, to say the least, improbable: to climb the entire boot in search of fame and glory to reach... the stars!
A daring and somewhat crazy dream, especially considering the starting point: the road. Especially in the 1950s. Especially in Sicily. Especially without a penny in your pocket. But sometimes it is necessary to have the courage to defy fate to try to realise one's dreams, even at the cost of appearing deluded. So, Tonino and Maria, having stumbled into each other's lives by chance, discovering that they are linked by an artistic understanding impossible to ignore, decide to embark on a journey. A journey not only along the entire peninsula through regions, dialects and legends, but also within themselves, a journey made up of private moments, small disagreements and comical jealousies that will lead them in search of the great opportunity that can change their lives, an opportunity that will perhaps never come, or will it? Maybe not quite how they imagined it...
A romantic, moving and at the same time hilarious musical comedy with a typically local flavour!
