Amidst all the foreign holidaymakers who flock to the resorts along our coast, there are always a few die-hard local ladies who love to stay on the beach right up until the very last sunny day, to enjoy every warm ray before returning home, where they will spend the winter waiting, hopeful and eager, for the arrival of the next summer.
It is precisely these ladies, sun-worshippers who tirelessly continue to visit the beaches every day, even when they have long since been cleared of all deckchairs and parasols, that we have decided to focus on this time. They are women who, in their own way, are fighting not to resign themselves to the arrival of the colder season and, metaphorically, to the inevitable ‘autumn’ of their own lives.
As usual, this production by Grado Teatro will be accompanied by a host of songs, performed live (in this case, evocative and melancholic melodies heralding the end of summer, which are always a pleasure to hear again), alongside the punctual and constant announcements from these bathers’ most faithful companion: the beach loudspeaker.
