A journey into the authentic heart of Grado, through history, art and tradition. The guided tours ‘Discovering Grado: between sea and wonder’ depart from the PromoTurismoFVG Infopoint and wind through the narrow streets, small squares and piazzas of the historic centre, discovering evocative views and timeless atmospheres.
During the tour, the guide accompanies participants through the island's most iconic places, telling stories of patriarchs, poets such as Biagio Marin, and fishermen who have shaped the local identity. Maritime traditions intertwine with the Central European charm of the Belle Époque, when Grado was a favourite destination for artists such as Joseph Maria Auchentaller and Adele Bloch-Bauer, Klimt's muse, and Emperor Franz Joseph called it “the pearl of the Adriatic”.
Grado is just as enchanting after sunset. An evening visit reveals the most intimate side of this ancient Venetian village, where every street holds stories that span the centuries, from Roman times to the splendour of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
