From Grado, you can set off on a pleasant cruise between the sea and the lagoon thanks to the TPL FVG maritime services, which operate during the summer. Comfortable boats connect the island to nearby towns, offering the opportunity to explore the area from a unique perspective.
The boats are equipped to transport bicycles: an ideal opportunity for those who want to combine sailing with a cycling tour to discover the surroundings.
Every day, except Mondays, from 10th July to 12th October 2025, experience the thrill of visiting Trieste from Grado, crossing the Gulf of Trieste thanks to the maritime services operated by APT Gorizia and TPL FVG. Once you arrive in Trieste, if you are travelling by bike, you can follow one of our cycling itineraries: CULTURAL or NATURALISTIC. Alternatively, you can go to the InfoPoint in Piazza Unità d'Italia and request information material on Trieste. You can discover the city on foot or use the convenient HopTour bus service to discover the city's places of interest and attractions. The audio guides synchronised with the route will provide you with information and interesting facts. The tour starts from the Rive, at the Molo Audace, opposite Piazza Unità, and after reaching the hill of San Giusto, it arrives at the wonderful Miramare Castle and Park. From 1st June to 12 October 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday, the Aquileia - Grado maritime line offers boat trips in the Grado Lagoon, a magical place rich in lush vegetation, immersed in tranquillity and dotted with casoni, the characteristic ancient fishermen's dwellings. The boat has 25 spaces for bicycles (subject to availability) and allows you to organise a cycling tour along the Alpe Adria Radweg cycle path and discover other cycling routes along the Friuli Venezia Giulia coast. From 1 June to 12 October 2025, the maritime connection between the two main seaside resorts of Friuli Venezia Giulia will be back, offering a route between sea and land that is particularly suitable for cycling enthusiasts, who can ride along cycle paths surrounded by nature, castles and seaside villages... Tickets can be purchased on board the motorboat and at all Core TPL FVG ticket offices. Single tickets can also be purchased from the TPL FVG app. If you have an FVG card, you are entitled to a return trip (with one child under 12) on the same day. You can travel with your bicycle (no more than one bike per passenger) subject to space availability and at the captain's discretion.
It is advisable to check in advance about the availability of the service, especially during peak times and at weekends. To transport your bicycle, you must purchase a special ticket, which can be purchased on board the motorboat and at all Core TPL FVG ticket offices.
