Unique in its kind, the Alpe Adria Puppet Festival organised by the CTA in Gorizia winds its way from Grado and Aquileia to Gorizia and Nova Gorica in Slovenia. This festival is an international showcase for puppetry, but also an “incubator” for projects and initiatives that open up to other forms of theatre, to cross-pollination between different arts, experiences and stories, in the belief that only through knowledge of diversity can we attempt to respond to the complexities of the contemporary world. It is a cross-border festival that has been focusing on Europe for 30 years and has always been aimed at an ever-wider circle of puppetry enthusiasts in all its forms, both traditional and innovative.
The Puppet Festival takes place in Grado in various areas of the historic centre every year in the second half of August.
