The hotel

The Grand Hotel Astoria has its roots in the early 20th century, when the island of Grado was already a renowned holiday destination for the Central European nobility and the Habsburg court. Then known as the Hotel Lido, the hotel soon became a symbol of excellence in hospitality, also distinguishing itself as the home of the local casino.

Completely renovated in 1991, the Grand Hotel Astoria continues to be a benchmark for style, comfort and hospitality, skilfully combining tradition and modernity.

Located in the heart of the historic centre, a few steps from the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia and the charming streets and squares of Gravo Vecio, the hotel offers 138 elegant and quiet rooms, many with sea or lagoon views. The rooms, including numerous Junior Suites and refined Suites, are furnished in a classic style and equipped with every comfort: adjustable air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, safe, Wi-Fi and private bathroom. Some rooms are equipped for guests with disabilities and, on request, it is possible to stay with small pets.

The gastronomic offer ranges from the main restaurant, where guests can enjoy rich buffets and dishes prepared by the chef, to the prestigious panoramic restaurant ‘Settimo Cielo’, located on the seventh floor. From here, a breathtaking view embraces the sea, the ancient city and the lagoon, while the cuisine enhances the authentic flavours of the territory with creativity and refinement.

Wellness & Thalasso Area

The Wellness Centre at the Grand Hotel Astoria is a place dedicated to self-care, where body and mind find balance thanks to the exceptional natural characteristics of the island of Grado. Seawater, rich in iodine, mineral salts and trace elements, is the protagonist of the treatments and thalassotherapy programmes, a practice that exploits the regenerative virtues of the sea and its climate to restore vitality and harmony to the body.

The wellness programme takes guests on a multi-sensory experience that includes a sea cave, bio sauna, sensory showers, relaxation area with herbal tea corner and massage area. Each environment has been designed to promote relaxation, purification and psychophysical rebalancing in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.

The Grand Hotel Astoria also has two heated seawater pools, designed for maximum comfort and relaxation for guests: the first, with a hydromassage corner and waterfall jets, offers moments of pure pleasure; the second, located on the top floor, offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Grado, allowing you to admire the beauty of the “Island of the Sun” from an exclusive perspective.

A spa kit with towel and bathrobe is available to wellness centre customers.

On the 8th floor, guests will also find an FKK area on the panoramic sun terrace: an exclusive space reserved for naturists, ideal for enjoying a natural relaxation experience in total privacy. Access is free and reserved for adults.

• Physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatments

The centre has an area dedicated to physiotherapy treatments, where the experience of qualified staff is combined with the benefits of seawater. Each rehabilitation programme is tailored to the patient's needs to address neuromusculoskeletal problems and promote functional recovery.

One of the most popular treatments is hydrokinesitherapy in seawater, which exploits the physical and therapeutic properties of water heated to 33°C. Particularly suitable for joint pain, sports injuries, neurological or post-operative problems, this therapy is carried out under the guidance of specialised physiotherapists and allows for gradual and targeted recovery.

The offer is completed by manual therapies, physical therapies (such as Tecar therapy and ultrasound therapy), active approaches and group exercise programmes, ideal for maintaining tone, elasticity and daily well-being.

For those who want to treat themselves to a moment of beauty and regeneration, the centre offers a wide selection of personalised beauty treatments.
