The Bar Gelateria Cristallo is a historic family business in the heart of Grado, founded in 1960 and always synonymous with hospitality, quality and passion. A family tradition
Run by the Camuffo-Mesce family, Bar Gelateria Cristallo is deeply linked to the history and cultural life of Grado. Since the 1960s, it has been a meeting place for cinema and art enthusiasts, especially during the Grado Film Festival, when the bar was frequented by intellectuals and artists of the calibre of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Over time, Cristallo has also become a favourite haunt of Italian sporting greats. Among the most recent episodes, the visit of Totò Di Natale, who chose the bar for a convivial break, is just one of the many moments that link Grado to the world of football. In the past, the Island of the Sun has been a holiday destination for champions such as Gigi Riva, Fabio Capello, Roberto Baggio and the legendary coach Nereo Rocco.
Artisanal ice cream since 1960
The ice cream parlour is the true heart of Cristallo. Since 1960, artisanal ice cream has been produced with selected ingredients and great attention to quality. The sundaes are famous throughout Grado: from the great classics such as the Chocolate Sundae to those with fresh fruit such as the Exotic Sundae or the Pineapple Sundae.
Alongside the traditional flavours – fiordilatte, hazelnut, pistachio, mint – there are also milk-free options, such as dark chocolate, strawberry and lemon. There are also options designed for children, such as the Coppa Pinocchio or Banana Split. Ice cream can be enjoyed comfortably both inside and outside the shop, an increasingly rare and appreciated feature.
Quick meals and snacks for any time of day
Bar Gelateria Cristallo is also the ideal place for a quick but tasty lunch. The menu includes hot sandwiches, stuffed toast, hot dogs, piadina flatbreads, tramezzini sandwiches, cold dishes such as caprese salad, fresh salads, mini pizzas and hot dishes such as cutlet with chips. Also worth trying is the artisan pinza, handmade and available in different varieties, together with the famous crispy chips.
Cocktails and moments of relaxation
The day at Cristallo ends with a rich selection of cocktails and drinks, from classics such as Americano, Negroni and Mojito to long drinks, non-alcoholic options, premium gin, whisky and a carefully selected range of wines, prosecco and sparkling wines. The offer is completed by draught and bottled beers, ideal for accompanying every moment of conviviality.
Since 2006, with the return to direct management by the Camuffo-Mesce family, Bar Gelateria Cristallo continues to preserve its heritage, combining tradition and quality with a warm welcome.
