In Fiumicello-Villa Vicentina, just a few kilometres from Grado and Aquileia, Valpanera combines the region’s winemaking tradition with a youthful and innovative spirit. Founded in the 1970s, the winery is now run by young entrepreneurs who are guiding its growth, focusing on quality, sustainability and the promotion of Friuli’s finest wines.
The region and the vineyards
The proximity to the sea and the variety of soils – ranging from clay to sand and gravel – help to define the character of the wines. The vineyards are spread across four areas – Borgo Pacco, Scodovacca, San Martino and Cortona – each with distinct characteristics that are brought to the fore through the choice of grape varieties and the work carried out in the winery.
Alongside the clay and sandy-clay soils, which are particularly important for the reds, are the gravelly soils of Cortona, where the white grape varieties are cultivated.
A central place in the production is reserved for the Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, a grape variety deeply linked to Valpanera’s identity, offered in various styles, including the Aqvilio reserve.
The range also includes Cabernet Sauvignon and white wines such as Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malvasia and aromatic Traminer. The Classic Range is complemented by the Reserve Range, featuring labels such as Alma, Carato and Vigna Decima, as well as a selection of sparkling wines.
Tastings, tours and events
Valpanera offers tastings and cellar tours, providing an opportunity to get to know the wines, the production facilities and the company’s philosophy at first hand. The wine shop also allows visitors to discover and purchase the full range of products, whilst experiencing the winery first-hand.
The premises include a multi-purpose space, with an approximate capacity of 50 seated guests and 80 for a reception, where events and social gatherings can be organised.

A focus on sustainability
Valpanera integrates a commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability into its operations. This approach includes Equalitas certification and membership of the National Quality System for Integrated Production – SQNPI, with a focus on the management of vineyards and resources.
