Unique in its kind, the Alpe Adria Puppet Festival, organised by the CTA of Gorizia, winds its way from Grado and Aquileia to Gorizia and Nova Gorica in Slovenia. This festival is an international showcase of puppetry, but also an "incubator" of projects and initiatives that are open to other forms of theatre, to contaminations between arts and different experiences and histories, in the conviction that only through knowledge of diversity can we attempt to respond to the complexities of the contemporary world. It is a cross-border festival that has been focusing its attention on Europe for 30 years and that has always addressed an ever-wider circle of figure theatre enthusiasts in all its forms, both traditional and innovative.
The Puppet Festival takes place in Grado in various parts of the historic centre every year, in the second half of August.
