In the Città Giardino neighbourhood of Grado, Gobatto Bakery and Patisserie offers bread, cakes and savoury specialities, carrying on a craft passed down through three generations.
The story began in Lignano Sabbiadoro in 1958, when Zaccaria Gobatto founded the bakery together with his wife. In 2013, the family tradition came to Grado with the opening of the shop, run by his grandson Alexandro and his wife.
The range includes slow-rise breads, multigrain breads and those made with sourdough, pizzas and focaccia, alongside traditional cakes, Viennese pastries and tea-time treats.
One speciality worth discovering is the gubana al Santonego, which captures the flavours of Grado through the local liqueur. For a savoury treat, the selection ranges from family recipes to focaccia inspired by the styles of Bari and Rome.
Particularly during the Christmas period, Gobatto also offers biscuit-making workshops, gingerbread decorating and Christmas wreath-making sessions: opportunities to get creative and share in the festive spirit. To find out about the programme and how to take part, please contact the bakery directly.
Opening hours: 07:30–13:00 | Also open on Saturday afternoons from 17:00 to 19:00.
Outside the festive season, closed on Sundays.
