Hosteria De Gustibus is a family-run trattoria located in the historic centre of Grado, a short walk from the Basilica of Santa Eufemia and the old port. As you stroll through the narrow streets, the aroma of home cooking invites you to stop and discover the authentic flavours of Grado's culinary tradition, with a wide range of dishes based on fresh fish, prepared according to local recipes and with great passion.
The restaurant welcomes guests in a simple and friendly atmosphere, with an indoor dining room and outdoor tables in the charming inner courtyard, ideal for lunch and dinner in fine weather. With about 40 seats inside and 40 outside, De Gustibus is the perfect place for a tasty break in the heart of the city.
The cuisine focuses on raw ingredients, selected daily from the local market in Grado. The menu varies according to the catch of the day and offers a rich choice of seafood starters, including crostini with octopus or marinated salmon, sarde in saor (sardines in sauce), mackerel in oil and more creative dishes such as fish canapés with filo pastry and aromatic sauces. Don't miss the sautéed clams and peppered mussels.
Among the first courses, the specialities of Grado cuisine stand out: spaghetti with clams “peverasse”, bavette alla busara with scampi, gnocchi or bavette with clams, as well as the generous “scogliere”, designed as a single dish. The main courses celebrate Grado's signature dish, boreto, offered in different versions depending on the catch of the day: cuttlefish, mullet and fish of the day, accompanied by a good Friulian wine.
To round off the meal, a selection of homemade desserts such as tiramisu, strudel, tarts and panna cotta provide a delicious and authentic finale.
With reasonable prices (approximately between £30 and £45) and no cover charge, Hosteria De Gustibus is a true oasis of taste and conviviality. An ideal place for those who want to savour Grado's cuisine in an authentic, simple and familiar atmosphere.
