Mostra storica "Maria Bergamas, per tutte le madri, per tutti i figli"
20 May 2023

WHO IS CUFTER? - Presentation of the book by Stefano Corso
FRIDAY 9 JUNE - 5.15 P.M.
MAN AQUILEIA - Via Roma 1, Aquileia
The author will dialogue with Massimo Sgambati.
The purchase of sixty-five wooden boxes with thousands of stereoscopic glass negatives inside reveal the activity of a photographer - Carlo Coretti - who lived in the early 1900s. Coretti's photographic plates - long hidden and forgotten - retrace Italy in the early 1900s through historical events, key figures, monuments, churches and views of cities. A journey, that of the photographer, which starts in Trieste and also stops in Aquileia. A journey, that of Stefano Corso, which began a long way back with historical research on the photographer's real identity, with the digitisation of the archival heritage and its cataloguing, with the sharing of this heritage on the web through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
STONES. A PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY IN THE NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF AQUILEIA by Caterina Codato
SATURDAY 10 JUNE - 11 A.M.
MAN AQUILEIA - Via Roma 1, Aquileia
Caterina Codato, an artist trained at the International School of Graphics in Venice, will present her project 'Pietre. A photographic voyage through the National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia", born as part of Laura Manione's workshop "PORTARE ALLA LUCE. Photography in the footsteps of antiquity'. The project aims to bring back to life, through photography, some artefacts deposited in the Museum's external spaces, in an apparently marginal location compared to the internal museum itinerary. Caterina Codato will recount her experience and the stages of the artist's work: from the shot, to the photographic print, to the photogravure, the technique chosen for her personal rewriting of the history and reinterpretation of the finds.
Participation is free of charge. Reservations are recommended by writing to bookshopmanaquileia@gmail.com or calling 043191016.
