Grado is a cyclist’s paradise, with bike paths in the town centre and outside the town. The longest and most fascinating bike route in Europe arrives here!

Grado is a tourist destination that people love not only for the tranquillity arising from its size on a human scale and for its beautiful beaches and impeccable spas, but also for the extra services that it offers tourists. You can go biking both in the city centre (using the bike paths) and outside the town (through fields and vineyards) and even outside the country (bicycle touring enthusiasts can ride to Austria!).

In fact, the Alpe Adria bike route starts from Salzburg, crossing spectacular mountain, hilly and lagoon landscapes for 425 km before reaching Grado. With a wealth of cultural, natural and historical offerings, this fascinating cross-border bike route has earned great recognition: in 2015 it was named the best bike route in Europe; and the following year it was awarded the Italian bicycle tourism prize by the jury of the Italian Green Road Award.

Other routes wind through town and outside Grado, among roads, vineyards, fields and paths that run along the sea and connect the town to the Valle Cavanata and Foce dell’Isonzo – Isola della Cona nature reserves. The Golf Club can also be reached with a bike path. Grado is a cyclist’s paradise, and for good reason, with its town bike paths, the Alpe Adria bike route and the FVG2 bike route.
