EVENTI TOP E SPETTACOLI, DANZA E MUSICA
Musica a 4 stelle - Il violino di Noè
9 August 2022
Position: Porto Mandracchio
9.00 pm
Music on water: the extraordinary violin-shaped boat, which has travelled around the world, with the 'Virtuosi del Doge'.
In a festive atmosphere, starting at 9.00 p.m., the musicians of the "Virtuosi del Doge" will play music by Vivaldi on board the violin positioned in Grado's Mandracchio harbour; the violin, which is equipped with an electric outboard motor and weighs about a tonne, will be navigated by Captain Roberto Camuffo, who will conduct the work of art from the San Marco shipyard to Grado's Mandracchio harbour. Admission to the concert, which guarantees not only musical pleasure with highlights of Vivaldi's Baroque music, but also spectacular images thanks to the accompanying light show, is free of charge.
The artist who built it, Livio de Marchi, originally from Venice, has been attracting attention with unusual wood sculptures for many years and has won international recognition; his wooden Vespa, for example, is in the Moma of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. After the concert, Noah's violin will remain for a week in front of the main entrance to Grado's GIT lido, where it will be available to all guests and residents of the Golden Island as an attractive photo motif. The violin is twelve and a half metres long, it took the artist Livio de Marchi a whole year to make it, different woods were used such as oak, mahogany, fir, larch, linden and cherry: with the Noah's Violin the internationally renowned artist wants to celebrate the resurrection of art, music and culture to give a moment of joy at the end of the pandemic, Grado is the first place outside Venice where de Marchi's violin can be admired.
